these are not appropriate for studio recording
i’ve had worse headphones for higher cost, but i’ve also had better headphones for lower cost (now out of production)in other words, there are worse scams out there, but that does not make these good for the price.positives:uses some metal in the constructiontop headband is attached properly and this portion of the headset seems comfortablelengthy springy cables that don’t seem like they’ll cause major issues durability wisenegatives:As long as there is electricity going through them I can hear white noise static at all times, even with the volume on everything turned off.unfortunately these lengthy springy cables could be causing that static by picking up interference.the metal connecting the earcups to the headset relies on the plastic surviving, so this will inevitably break.the pictures make it seem like they earcups will be large enough for your ears, they are not.when listening to vocals definitely sounds a little tinnier than i’d like compared to my previous much cheaper pyle onesno indicators on left vs right ear

comfortable with good noise cancellation and decent sound
First off, whoever started making detachable audio cables a standard thing for headphones was a saint and I owe them my life. I only get headphones that have cables I can replace, because if something is gonna fail, it’s gonna be the cables 9 times out of 10.The ones provided with this set of cans is nice and weighty with coiled cords, which is GREAT and saves on tangles and space. You get two cables— one with the standard aux 3.5mm male jacks, and one with the 3.5mm on one end and a 6.35mm on the other, allowing you to use these with more than just the typical portable devices. Ends seem pretty well reinforced, so hopefully the cables won’t break at the jack connection for a long while.Quality of the build on these phones is good! Metal brackets for the cans in, going up into a comfortable and padded band. The grip is good and not too tight on my head, and they don’t move around much even if you’re doing some conservative to moderate headbanging along with your thrash band of choice (mine is Megadeth). Cups are comfortable and don’t get too hot, and manage to encapsulate my ears without putting any pressure on them anywhere, which is nice since I have fresh piercings. No problem wearing them with glasses, either. Overall fit is adjustable enough with the cans having a good range of tilt and the band extends as you would expect.Audio quality is good, I’d put it at a 7.5/10 to my casual pleb ear. The sounds aren’t quite as full bodied or deep as I’d like, and definitely leans a bit too much into the treble-y end for my usual tastes; I like more robust mids and a slightly boosted bass, and this can run a touch sharp. Bass is definitely there, but the balance between that and treble is tipped a touch more in favour of the latter (getting it that 7.5 rating instead of an 8 from me, so it’s a pretty negligible difference). Still absolutely serviceable though, and I’ll be keeping these on hand for use with my PC.Noise cancelling is impressive considering it’s passive; you won’t block out -every- sound but it does a good job of knocking ambient sounds down to minimal levels. I can’t hear myself snapping my fingers over music played at 30% volume, for example, but a loud clap of the hands is toned down but audible. For headphones that don’t require any additional power source or charging, they’re great! There’s some real beauty in a set of simple plug in headphones that perform well without any fancy bells or whistles. I love my bluetooth headphones, my Sony and Bose wireless earbuds, my Razr headset…. but to be honest, this functional simplicity is precisely what I like most. Just plug it in and go. Excellent set of phones for the price.

Audio is clear, full sound. Comfortable to wear. Works with my Fifine microphone.
I ordered these headphones because I already own a Fifine brand microphone, and they pair with the mic perfectly. They are excellent quality headphones. They raise my home music recording experience to a more professional level.I don’t have an expensive home studio set up. All I need for my songwriting is a quiet space, my guitar, my computer with recording software, my microphone, and now these Fifine headphones. All of that combined is enough for me to create the very best tracks that I need before moving on to the next step of building on those recordings in a professional studio.Take note…these headphones aren’t lightweight as the listing states. Some buyers may not like the heft of these. For how I use them that’s a good thing. The band and the ear pads are plush and cushioned, and combined with the rest of the material that comprises these headphones, it makes for solid hardware and a snug fit. In my opinion they are too solid and substantial for hours of easy listening of playlists or casually watching videos on your computer.Personally, I love how solid and secure these feel on my head while recording. In my opinion, most great headphones for recording have a weight and lots of cushion to them, keeping them firmly in place. As snug as the headphones are, when I am wearing them and concentrating on what I’m hearing (or as I say ‘in the creative zone’), I’m not distracted by how they fit while I’m playing my guitar and singing. The headphones cancel all outside noise wonderfully, and give me the full audio experience so that I can focus on the layers of sounds on the tracks I record. They allow me to hear how the instrument and vocals work in harmony. Sometimes one song requires several takes, and I need to listen closely and without distractions to every nuance in the music playback. The headphones come with two audio cords – one has 3.5mm jacks on both ends, and the other has a 6.35mm jack on one end to be plugged into an amplifier, mixer, or instruments. Both cords are coiled in the middle so they can be stretched a longer distance. The cords aren’t flimsy. They have the same excellent quality feel as the headphones.Recently a relative gave me an organ that needs a cord with a 6.35mm jack, and I was so excited to get these headphones and try it out. I’m having a blast learning to play it finally!I’m really impressed with the Fifine products I’ve ordered. This is a welcome addition to my home recording experience. These headphones get a solid 5 stars from me.
