Old fashioned cooking!
Beautiful set! Love the pre seasoning, made French toast this morning and no sticking, easy to clean. Will be passed down when I die.

Amazing so far
We’ve used them a few times, they are great for stews and steak (so far). Even though they came seasoned, we re-seasoned them. Easy to clean, but make sure you read your instructions. These will last longer if you read the instructions. These are not for people who are lazy. You can’t just go eat after cooking, the pans need to should be cleaned right after cooking to help keep it in good shape. I’m lazy, but my boyfriend wanted them. So you have to force yourself not to be lazy while using them.

My first time owning cast iron so I only have coated teflon pans to compare to.I’ve had them for a few months and nothing has stuck to the pan. You can feel the quality. However depending on what you are cooking can require more maintenance when cleaning. Most things just require a wipe down with oil, but I have had to re-season a pan because I didn’t care for it properly so follow care guidelines and you’ll have no issues. However, the pans are also very heavy! Anyone with weak wrists will find them rather difficult to use.

Purchased this set while on promotion over the Xmas period. Only used the pan so far but it makes a huge difference when searing off meat to a normal pan, just tastes better. Trying to get used to the cleaning after as not supposed to use soap water as can strip the seal. Yes, I did seal my self, just a learning curve.

My 4pc set of Lodge cast iron pans came in this morning. I looked over each piece carefully & found a few slight flaws. No worries.I thoroughly washed & dried all 4pcs. and then I warmed all 4pcs. in a 350°F oven for about 20 to 30 mins. Now they were thoroughly dried & ready to be researched.I coated mine in vegetable all, rubbed off as much oil as I could. Then put them back into the oven, upside down, at 500°F preheated oven. I left them in the oven for one full hour. They are now left in the oven with it turned off until they are completely cooled.YES! They came pre-seasoned. Lodge had a good coat on them. But, I grew up with my mom cooking in cast iron, and I’ve cooked in cast iron all of my life. I passed my older cast iron pans down to my sons & their brides when they married. I’ve been missing cooking in cast iron, so I bought myself this set. I just have to, over time, rebuild the perfect level of seasoning on these new pans. And yes, I use dawn dish liquid to wash my cast iron pans. I always have. I also thoroughly dry each time and heat, then re-apply a thin layer of oil, the heat to smoking point, then wipe out again each time. Most times it can easily be cleaned with a non scratch sponge & hot water, depending on what you cook in it.You will love your cast iron if you properly clean, dry, & oil your pan as you use it. And, yes! It gets better each time you use it.
