Excellent simple camera with pan & tilt, my 5th Foscam camera over the years. This is a smaller, more attractive design than some of the earlier cameras, at a very affordable price. The resolution is incredible, pushing 5 megapixels. I only purchase security cameras with pan & tilt because it’s very useful to be able to remotely control the angle and get a better view of areas across a larger area. Setup was simple with the Foscam iPhone app, I just had to scan the QR code on the bottom of the camera and then it generates a QR code that displayed on my iPhone, and I had to hold my phone in front of the camera’s view. The Foscam recognizes this QR code and connects to wifi.This camera is powered over Micro USB, which is incredibly convenient. I can power it from a multiple port USB power adapter (that is sufficiently powerful) and avoid requiring an additional power brick. It does not have an Ethernet port so it must be used exclusively with WiFi, which I think is the most common use case for many people. A USB cable and power adapter is included as well.The design of this camera is very simple and clean, it blends in a bit better than some other designs and also includes night time infrared lighting. I’ve attached a well lit and a darkness photo taken from my desk with the camera. I’m looking forward to replacing one of my older cameras with this and enjoying the higher resolution imagery.

This newest model Foscam 5MP WiFi Home Security camera is the best yet of all of our indoor Foscam cameras. I highly recommend it for ease of set up, clarity is the best ever, and pan/tilt works very well with the ability to set several positions for the camera to return to. Night vision is also the best ever. See my photos, the camera comes with a mounting plate, clear instructions, and no longer has an antenna, so it’s more streamlined than earlier model we purchased in 2019 (no longer sold). The power plug is also more streamlined, very helpful for plugging into tight places. For the price point that Foscam cameras offer, I do not see any better choices out there.This was our 7th Foscam indoor camera, so I believe I am very comfortable with their capability and durability they have proven over what is now 7 years of ownership. This newest model reflects tech refinements that they appear to be making with each new model, yet, the older models continue to work great without flaw. What is now most impressive was how easy set up is for this 5MP camera. I used to need to plug any brand camera into the router by cable to set it up, then the WiFi; this new 5MP Foscam model set up in about 30 seconds without any connection to a router. It has a redesigned footprint that is also more stable, highly unlikely to be bumped over – so many people never notice the cameras and walk so close to them! Night vision is like being there with a full lit room, we can see everything. Highly recommended.

I bought this mainly to alert me when packages were delivered so I could grab them before they got stolen; I also wanted to track animals (mostly feral cats to catch for a trap-neuter-release program). The camera takes okay photos but the software is a mess and rendered it useless for my purposes. It wasn’t able to detect a single delivery person, and it only detected me walking in front of it about half the time. I received so many alerts because it would trigger on falling snow, but the next day it wouldn’t detect any of the animals or people that walked through that snow.The PC software and the Android app don’t completely match up, so some settings from the app show up differently on PC – while some settings on PC don’t show at all in the app. Zone detection didn’t work at all – if enabled it wouldn’t detect anything, period. There are spelling mistakes throughout the PC software, and conflicting descriptions in the app, which didn’t instill much confidence that the developers were staying regular on updates.But I finally gave up and returned it after contacting customer support – after a night of heavy snow, and a day of people and animals walking through it all without a single event detected by the camera, customer support’s response was for me to hand over the password for my account/device and the *specific times* of all the missed events – not seeming to understand that if it weren’t for the disturbed snow, I wouldn’t have known that things were being missed. I should have paid more attention to all the negative reviews about this camera.

This is a replacement for my R4S camera and was recommended by Nora of Foscam. It has an amazing picture quality and is very easy to set up. The pan and tilt operation is so smooth and better than the R4S. It is easy to create presets so you can easily move from one position to another. It is great for monitoring. The audio is very good. It is clear and can hear even everything in the room. The Foscam iOS app and VMS desktop software is very easy to set up and use.

One has lense issues so I contacted Foscam thru email and was told repair would be too expensive and was recommended this model.This model had no lense zoom and fewer features than my older cameras but was much easier to install.Over all it’s a 4 stars with the best part having a SD card slot so that you can record your pics and vids directly into the camera and download to your phone or laptop. This will help you keep cost down and not have to wired and pay for a DVR.Overall a good home security inexpensive camera setup. I have one camera at my front door high up and one at my rear door high up. This will give me the most bang for the bucks without spending 100 or thousands of dollars.Their motion detection has many setting to reduce false vid or pic capture but really it’s not going to help much since even an outside tree branch waving in the wind will trigger the camera to capture vid or pic…Biggest issue is the Foscam software on the laptop and phone are not consistent nor easy to use and understand. Their software has improved over the years compaired to their older cameras that I have, so I will give Foscam credit for that. But still Foscam needs to refine their camera software interface much better.
