Easy to use and did the job
I had an abundance of tomatoes and wanted to make pasta sauce, minus the seeds and skins. I found this strainer and for the cost, I figured I couldn’t go wrong. It was easy to assemble and use. One thing however, I would not run raw tomatoes through it, the tomato skins are too tough. Instead, I dipped the tomatoes in warm water just long enough to peel the majority of the skins off. Then ran the tomatoes through the strainer and it did a fantastic job in my opinion. The remaining skins and seeds separated beautifully from the pulp, just as I had hoped.

Works great for making sauce out of frozen tomatoes
This worked exactly as I expected. Be sure to clean out the portion of the machine that dispenses the seeds and skin regularly from the tomatoes, or it will get jammed up. This is great for processing tomatoes to make sauce after the tomatoes have been frozen. Made a very thick, smooth and water free tomato sauce. I would purchase this again. Only thing I am not sure of is how long it will last, as it is only made out of plastic.

    Really works well
This is pretty good. I have no complaints. I did have to do a few times to completely remove juices, but really for the price and ease in assembly and disassembly can’t complain.

    Serious Dissapointment
Received the product quickly. Was excited to take it out and give it a try. I have 35+ tomatoes plants which will soon produce tomatoes which I plan on turning into jars of tomatoes and marinara sauce. So I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me. No better time to start prepping now and test my new product. So initial assessment was that the plastic looked solid enough. Easy to assemble. And suction to hold unit in place works really great So nothing negative to report on the construction of the unit.I then cut several tomatoes into large diced size peices. Put a few into the opening and started turning. Was hearing large clicks. It’s part of the process as the plastic thingy runs against the mesh via a spring and then quickly returns to its position. So all normal. As I put in more tomatoe pieces I realized that not only the skin and seeds was coming out of the side, but also the large majority of the pulp (“meat” of the tomatoe if you will). That’s not good. And the only thing coming out of the front and into the small plastic tub was tomatoe juice. What?I was expecting for the juice and all the meat of the tomatoe. And for only the skin and seeds to come out of the sides. Not good at all. So I tried different cuts, different speeds, different ways and results was always the same… glorified tomatoe juice! Not at all what I was expecting. Not at all what I wanted. So for me this unit is totally useless for this process. I’ll have to go back to the traditional manual way. And hopefully repurpose this thing for something else one day.Very dissapoited! I do NOT RECOMMEND this product.I guess for a full review I have to say that it is easy to clean and dry? But does that even matter at this point?I usually don’t return products. Too much of a hassle for me unfortunately. And the price paid isn’t going to put a debt on my budget. As I said, I will try to repurpose it for something else if I can.I had high hopes. I really wish I could be writing a different review right now.

Easy to use, clean and great price
Compared to other tomato presses, this was a good price. It assembled easily and could be taken apart for cleaning. Handle did not require a lot of strength so it was good for everyone to participate.

    Makes processing tomatoes easy!
I have used this tomato press three times this fall. It made the job so much easier and held up well. One issue I have is the suction base is not as simple as I think it should be. I have to line the rubber up within the base each time in order for it to suction properly. Another issue I have is that the handle is not secured properly so it can fall off while I’m turning it. The one star deduction is for those reasons. Although the unit is plastic, it does feel quite sturdy. And I have a lot of tomato sauce for the winter!

Support in Canada from SCS Direct
The CucinaPro Tomato Strainer worked very well right out of the box and processed blackberries and tomatoes as advertised. However, there was a slight leak of juice through the handle and when I looked, the red rubber O-ring had broken. It seemed to be dry and brittle. So, I contacted SCS Direct, the company that sells the tomato strainer, to see if they would send me a replacement O-ring. After two rounds of emails where I had to provide photos of the O-ring and the SKU number, I was told they could do nothing for me because they don’t ship outside of the United States. Considering that they sell into Canada through Amazon, you would think they would at least service what they sell. I guess this is a case of buyer beware. The machine works well. Just hope nothing breaks on it because the company doesn’t have your back.

I was never more impressed with a product as much as I am with this tomato strainer. This year I got a lot of plum tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. Let me tell you about this little inexpensive and very capable tomato strainer. It was simple to setup, and fairly easy to clean. It makes a clicking sound as your turn the handle to press, squeeze and remove skin and seeds from the tomatoes. At first when I started to turn the handle I thought that it was broken, but no, it was that genius clicking that was squashing and pushing the sauce one way and the skin and seeds another way. I truly love this machine. I plan to upload a video at a later date which will add my comments. If you are looking for a simple machine that truly does a great job of separating tomato seeds and skin from your tomato sauce, this is the machine.Shipping is free and the price is very inexpensive.

First time I tried this Tomato Strainer. It fits together nicely. I was impressed with how well it did strain the skins/seeds from the meat of the tomato. I did run the discard through twice to get every drop of pulp. The suction base is finicky, it took me a few tries to get it securely stuck to the counter. It did have to be readjusted twice during the processing. The pusher is cheaply made, and why I am giving it a 4. It is thin platic, with a hole in the handle and it had water in it the first wash before I used it. I used a wooden spoon. All in all, this is an affordable first time tomato strainer for a young canner.

This year I started to grow some of my own vegetables. There’s nothing like fresh tomato sauce. Although my crop wasn’t big, I decided to buy some extra field grown tomatoes of different varieties. I had used a friend’s tomato press many years ago and decided to get one myself. I purchased this with high expectations, and it didn’t fail. It’s perfect for my seasonal use and washes up nicely. Easy to assemble and disassemble. Very sturdy. The suction is secure and didn’t give. I was pleased with the little waste left over after I pressed each batch three times. I now have enough fresh tomato sauce in my freezer to last me the winter. For those of us who may only use this item once or twice a year, it should last many years. Would recommend this. Does the trick and is reasonably priced.

If u dont have alot of money but alot of tomatoes to process this will get the job done. U have to turn it slowly in order to get the most juice out. Ive reprocessed the seeds and skins just to get all the juices out of it and not waste product. Its easy to use and put together but the suction doesnt work so u have to hold the machine while ur turning it. Im honestly just goin to buy a better quality one but this worked for the mean time.

I’ve sat on this for a year and finally my husband just had to order it for me. It’s those reviews that keep me from wanting to buy it but bottom line is it will get the job done.Pros: does a good job truly separating the juice and pulp from the skin and seeds. Always run that batch of scraps through again you will be surprised at that little bit more you will get out of it.It’s not hard to put together or take apart. Cleaning it isn’t bad as long as you do it right away. Don’t let it sit or you will have caked on mess. The crank turns easy, yeah it’s kinda loud, I thought it was broken at first but those sounds are the plastic blade flaps that are doing their job.Cons: leaky!!!!!! Just like everyone says it leaks! It leaks from the handle all over the counter. It’s not a huge loss of fluid but it’s annoying. One lady suggested adding a hose gasket to it and it worked for her. The hose gaskets I bought were just a tad to tight to fit that area but I’ll try to find the right one. The other problem is the suction cup bottom. It’s a pure joke on my juicer. Perhaps mine is just defective but there is no suction no matter what I do to the lever. It actually keeps trying to pop off. Unfortunately I have to hold it down while I crank to keep it still. It’s definitely not my countertops either, I have a nice smooth flat Formica and plenty of other gadgets with suction cup bottoms that stick well to it. Lastly the price. It seemed to jump up an extra $10 since I started looking at it.Overall I’m still happy to have this tomato juicer. My main goal was to make salsa with it and I was able to do just that. It would be nice if they would upgrade this model so it wasn’t a messy pain that doesn’t stay in place but I’ll do what I have to with it to make it work.
