This 6-Quart enamel Dutch oven is great for cooking, marinating, refrigeration and freezing. The color porcelain enamel on cast iron can be used on gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. Not recommended for use on outdoor grills or over open outdoor flames. Not for use in microwaves. Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware is cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating bottom sidewalls and even the lid. Tightly fitting lid seals in moisture. The excellent heat retention reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking. Two layers of very hard, glossy porcelain enamel are chip resistant and easy to clean. Stainless steel lid knob is oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron. Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food. Although dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water is recommended to preserve the cookware’s original appearance. Made in China.
YOUR GO-TO DUTCH OVEN: A flawless pairing of form and function that doesn’t quit. The Lodge Dutch Oven not only makes your kitchen look good but is an enameled cast iron classic great for preparing and serving memorable meals. Broil, braise, bake or roast your favorite meals in the oven up to 500 Degree F.
WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON? It is glass that becomes bonded to the cast iron at high temperatures. A particulate of glass, called frit, is applied to the cast iron vessel and then baked at temperatures between 1200 and 1400° F. The glass frit melts and fuses to the cast iron, forming a bond. Porcelain enamel on cast iron is heat tolerant and impervious to water and other consumables.
EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The porcelain enameled interior has a smooth finish that minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization and resists staining. Although enameled cast iron is dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in tip top shape!
HEAT RETENTION: The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention, evenly heating throughout both the bottom and sidewalls. The tightly fitting lid seals in moisture for scrumptious pot roast, stews or a large batch of beans. Our heat retention also reduces the amount of energy needed for cooking.

Customers say

Customers appreciate the dutch oven’s value, color, cooking ability, and quality. They find it a great alternative to a creset, with an even finish on the enamel. The dutch oven works well for cooking everything from soups to roasts. It is easy to clean and has a nice finish. However, some customers dislike chip resistance, and opinions differ on its weight.

    Great enamled dutch oven!
I purchased the 6qt enameled dutch oven in Caribbean Blue and am extremely happy with it. I have used it on the stove top and in the oven. This is the first enameled dutch oven that I have owned but I do own several other cast iron dutch ovens, mainly for camping and bread.Pros:looks great – the blue is very similar to the Le Creuset that I havegood size for familyoff-white interior makes it easy to see what you are cookingretains heat very wellcleans up easilygreat value for the money!heavy because it is cast iron, but not too heavygood fitting lidcan handle high temperaturesnice big handlesgood heat distributionCons:I would have liked a less round bottom to increase cooking surface, but this really isn’t a big problem. If you want a good sized, attractive enameled dutch oven and don’t want to pay a premium price for a Le Creuset or a Staub, I can heartily recommend this Lodge!

    Perfect Beautiful Finish No Defects
I was initially a bit concerned about ordering due to some review regarding chips on the lid finish. But, the price was right. 25% of best known brand and Lodge is well known for it’s quality. Have no fear. The fact that the enameled Lodge products are Chinese made is NO problem. This item is flawless and well packed. The color is very even. Just beautiful and more even than the photo would have you think. The lid fits perfectly, very heavy and tight. i’m totally happy with this Dutch Oven.

    Versatile cookware
Excited to receive the delivery of this cast iron Dutch oven. A minor thing was the handle came off the lid and was rattling around the pot before I opened the box. I was concerned the enamel will be chipped but I put the handle back on securely and pleasantly surprised everything looked great! I’ve made soup, stew and artisan bread in it. Will try cooking rice and deep frying next. It cleans up very well and always look like brand new. Because of its pretty colour, I leave it out on a rack along with my other enameled cast iron cookware.I’m new to cooking with cast irons but I love it! This pot is heavier than other materials but I like how I can stir food around without having to hold it down in place. The price of other brands are way too much and I’m happy to find this that provides great value for the price. I’ll probably get a braiser in this same brand next time.

    I love this versatile pot
I was considering buying a very expensive similar product, but thought I’d try Lodge first based on positive reviews. I’m so happy that I did. It is quite heavy, but manageable. I’ve used it in the oven and on the stove top. Everything turns out great and nothing sticks (while using as suggested without extreme stove top heat). And it’s beautiful. I love it and would definitely buy other Lodge products.

Larger base would have been 5 star!
I used it as much as I could over the last two years. It’s much better than the stainless steel Dutch oven. Overall, a good enameled cast iron Dutch oven. And it cleans up easily, but I usually use it for soups, stews, chili, pasta sauce. No chipping issues but I don’t use metal cooking utensils – only silicone, wood or plastic. Made in China, unfortunately. My non-enameled cast iron skillets are made in the USA.My only issue with it is that it has a more rounded bottom and therefore a somewhat small base at 7″ in diameter whereas the rim is 11″. A smaller base means less surface area at the bottom of the Dutch oven for doing stuff like sweating onions or searing meats. If the base was 8.5″ in diameter then you would have 50% more cooking surface area. It’s like asking yourself if you’d rather cook with a 7″ skillet or a 8.5″ skillet!Even though I think it is a good quality enameled Dutch Oven, if I was looking for another one I would look for one with a larger flat base.

    Great quality
Lovely finish on the enamel and really good quality for the price. Holds heat, and cleans up so easily.

    Great Value
We are very pleased with this product. It arrived in a timely fashion and in perfect condition. Following the manufacturer’s usage instructions, the dishes we prepared turned out wonderfully and we appreciate how the oven kept the food warm. The unit cleaned up easily with soapy water and cloth even after simmering a chile for hours. This Dutch oven not only performs well, but looks great and we leave it out on the stove top when not in use.

    False advertising
When ordering a cast iron Dutch oven advertised as a do anything pot. Good for searing meat, camping on an open fire or oven use it was very disappointing to find it basically only good for an oven or stove use. The instructions also tell you not to Sear meat with it. And not use on an open flame.Very disappointed in the product I would recommend just buying a normal pot.

  9. LMT

I bought this dutch oven as a place holder until I could afford a Le Creuset one. But this worked so well I never did need to buy the more expensive brand. Cooks evenly, the color pops in the kitchen and it cleans up easily.

    Nice quality

Received the dutch oven with damaged enamel on the outside.Looks like it was shipped with damage because there were very few enamel chips present in the packaging so doesn’t look like it was damaged during transit.Paid a decent amount so disappointed to get a damaged product.

Very heavy, not too heavy. Good size. Easy to wash. Beautiful colour
