Excellent for home office
I bought this chair as my work passed to be more from home due to a recent change in position at work. Additionally i spend a lot of time working on my MBA as well, so I spend an average 4-5 hrs every day on this chair. Excellent chair in matters of comfort and posture.Assembly was super easy with the manual.I have had the chair now for almost 5 months, excellent value quality / price and experience is very good.I recommend it to anyone.

Happy enough, star off re no rear tilt or armrest adjustment, assembly glitches
Replacing a very durable 20+ year Staples chair, first try of a mesh seatback (that I’ll pad) but overall durability question. First try it feels solid and comfortable. Ergonomically, very good seat height, but can’t set the tilt angle, though it rocks or locks bolt upright. Unlike the old chair, armrests are not padded or independently adjustable. Update: a couple of years in the chair has held up well.Very quick delivery to Toronto from USA, safely packaged. Pretty easy to assemble with basic Ikea-hextool savvy, small assembly glitches: a PDF linked above contained assembly steps that were missing in the included paper document – best read that PDF before buying. Step 3) The armrests are NOT marked L&R, had to flip the seat to check. Step 5) The rear bar frame can be bolted without the rear mesh (saves height), but weirdly (intentionally as noted) that rear bar frame base overlaps the central seat plate by 1/4″ – sloppy by design.

Best cost effective option!
I had to replace my $350 chair that we got from Staples and I decided to check this one out because of a recommendation I received from a friend. She loves hers and I love mine. So much support for my lower back. The seat is big enough for me to cross my legs like an adult-child does and the wheels work well. My ONLY complaint is that the arm rests are a bit on the low side, but that also helps me get tucked right into my desk and sit closer. I will definitely replace our other chairs with this one when they die too!

Good budget chair with very low armrests
Easy to assemble, seems durable till now and mostly comfortable. The only drawback is the armrests are very low. The chair should have an adjustable armrest or an option to select between fix and adjustment armrest.

Great Buy For Its Price
Before buying this chair, I was using a junky old desk chair that stayed with me throughout university and a few years after. Because I am sitting a lot more at my desk for work, I decided I needed an upgrade that wouldn’t put a huge dent in my budget. This chair was right in line with my budget and it is a definite improvement on my last chair. Although I am not some desk chair expert, I would say this ranks somewhere in the middle for comfort and support out of all the chairs I’ve ever sat in. I prefer to rate the product on what it is rather than what I want it to be, and for $100 you are getting a great chair. If you have a couple extra hundred dollars you are willing to spend on another chair, there are better ones out there, no question about it. I’d say after two months use, I haven’t noticed anything wrong with the seat. The casters are plastic, but work well and the mesh back is a huge improvement on my last chair.

This chair arrived promptly and in good condition.I am comparing this chair to others of similar style ive seen in the stores.Durability 5/5This chair is very solid yet light.I’m over 200 lbs and have no issue what soever with this chair.Nor do I have concerns with it breaking.Functionality. 4.5/5This chair works very well as it was designed. The up and down action of this chair is smooth and solid.The tilt backward on the chair is fully customizable by tightening/loosing the pressure knob on the bottom of the chair.The lock function for the tilt works well too, but i fully tighten the back of my chair to remove all give.It would be nice to be able to tilt the seat itself forward or backward, but otherwise excellent functionality.Value 5/5For the price of the chair it is less then 50% of the sale price of other similar chairs in department stores.If you need an office chair, you can not go wrong with this one.Enjoy!AmazonBasics Mid-Back Mesh Chair

—–Update after 5 years of usage—–I’ve been using this chair since 2017.These are my impressions1. The chair is still solid. However the seat cushion has completely crumpled. It is nonetheless comfortable if you sit upright with your feet planted fully on the floor.2. The mesh back holds up quite decently. I had my doubts about it’s reliability, but it has surprised me quite well.3. I recently had to check out a chair for my better half and I tried a lot of more expensive chairs and ultimately decided on getting the same one again.The problem with new chairs is that the lower back is not at all supported. And the back rest doesn’t stay perfectly upright when you lean back. These new fancy chairs have a lot of give and it bends back causing a fear of falling back. This Amazon Basics chair has no such issues. The back is perfectly and rigidly mounted to the base. This means there is no recline. But it also means there are no issues with the back flexing and not staying in place. This may have less features but it is a solid chair.Hence I purchased another one just a few minutes ago. Wanted to update this review so that people are aware.For people who are expecting Herman Miller Aeron like chair, please temper your expectations.1. This does not have a recline. It is rigidly bound to the base.2. Doesn’t have adjustable hand rest.—–Original Review—–Comfortable and reliable chair. Used it for 20 minutes so far.My first impressions are;Pros:1. Looks and feels durable. There’s no creaking sounds. The castor wheels rotate smoothly. The locking mechanism feels solid.2. Self assembly is very easy. The instructions come in a booklet and are very easy to follow. I was able to assemble it in less than 45 minutes. All assembly can be done with just an allen key which is provided. All parts are labeled and named. There’s no way one can get confused while assembling this.3. The seat cushion is wide and comfortable.4. Height adjustment works as advertized. No surprises there.5. Cushion is fairly good. Will be giving a full review once I use it for a few months.Cons:1. The arm rests are useless. They are too low to be of any use.2. I’m a little skeptical of the back mesh. Not sure how durable that is. A sharp object against it might tear it off. Something like a sharp finger nail would probably be sufficient. Need to be particularly careful with the mesh back.

I’m generally a big fan of Amazon, I’ve been a Prime member forever, and I buy, well, almost everything from them. I’ve often been impressed with their AmazonBasics line, and this chair is no exception.Since many questions come up about comfort and support, I’ll mention that I’m 5′ 7″, 215 lbs, 48, male. Not huge, but definitely overweight. I’ve gone through many chairs – some just wearing out, and some I’ve had to get rid of. Most “normal” chairs tend to bend, wear out, or come apart in some way, after a while, and while I tend to prefer “heavy duty” chairs, those chairs tend to be so uncomfortable after a time that it’s like sitting on wood.So I admit I was hesitant about this chair – but two things caught my attention: the fantastic price (compared to other chairs), and the AmazonBasics name.While it is true that “Basics” implies… well… “BASICS”…. this is BY FAR the most comfortable chair I’ve ever owned. The part you sit on has a perfect and generous amount of cushioning that has stood up to repeated use, and still remained soft. I frequently have pain at the base of my spine, and I *notice* when a chair is uncomfortable. With other chairs, I”ve had to use pillows or extra padding, but this chair is absolutely amazingly comfortable, even after 7 months of constant use (purchased this in February 2016).The seatback is also awesome – it’s made of a kind of nylon mesh netting – not metal (as you’d think from the pictures) but soft material. This stuff is so much more comfortable to lean back into than any normal chair back I’ve tried, that I find myself leaning back into OFTEN – whereas with other chairs I would avoid leaning back at all. So… bottom, back, lumbar support – all there, and really amazingly nice.Of course… BASICS. So the armrests don’t adjust and are not adjustable even during assembly – and the same for the back. The back does “go back” a little, and there is a “push to lock” option on the control arm – but that’s it. Up/down, lock/unlock, that’s all you get. (There’s some kind of knob on the front that I suspect controls tension, but I never mess with it, it doesn’t seem to make a difference to me.)Assembly was easy. The screws take an alan wrench (hex key) tool, which comes with the chair. I’ve seen people commenting on screw holes not lining up, causing the back plate to overlap the bottom plate. Here’s the thing: IT’S SUPPOSED TO. Just follow the instructions, assemble the chair in order, and tighten it down. The chair will come out fine, and perfect, and you’ll love it. Assembly was typical for an office chair – but I was able to do it myself. This chair is lighter than most, which makes assembly quite easy.Now… not all is sweetness and light here. About 7 months in, the cylinder in this chair started to fail. I’d be sitting on the chair, and it would suddenly JERK downwards about half an inch. Then it would wait about 30 minutes, and JERK down again. UGH! It was not fun! But here’s where the AmazonBasics (and Amazon!) really shines: Since this is an “Amazon Product”, there is a one-year warranty noted right on the product page… and it’s administered… BY AMAZON! YAY! They didn’t even make me call some other number or company or anything. I just went to MY ORDERS, hit the “Return or Replace” button – this was 7 months later, mind you! – and sent a message. Within a few hours, I heard back from an agent asking if I’d like a refund, or a new chair? WOW! Really? Awesome! I mean… I was a little sad that they couldn’t just send me a new cylinder and bottom part or something, but, hey, a whole new chair, okay. They sent it free, with free overnight shipping, and i had it the next day.And let me just amplify on this: I kind of wanted to try to fix this myself. I saw on Amazon where they have replacement cylinders you can buy. And if you have a big hammer, you can apparently “bang out” the old cylinder and replace it with a new one. Not so for this chair: The bottom piece which bolts onto the bottom of the seat cushion, and into which the cylinder fits, is a CLOSED assembly. You can remove it from the chair, but you cannot disassemble it further in order to bang the cylinder out. So don’t even try. If you have a cylinder problem within the warranty period (a year), just let Amazon handle it for you. If it’s post-warranty, you’ll either need some kind of special clamp-on tool (Amazon has these – some of the cylinders come with them) to force the cylinder out from the outside (too much for me, I didn’t try that), or you’ll just need to buy a new chair. Which, knowing how great this chair is, I’d do in a heartbeat.So, again, a really great product from AmazonBasics, with the absolute top-tier support that you’d come to expect from Amazon. Buy this chair with confidence, it will serve you well!

La recomiendo totalmente, yo estaba buscando una silla cómoda y práctica para home office y cuando vi esta silla y sus comentarios me llamo la atención un comentario que decía que “No pierdas tiempo buscando en office max y office depot que tienen sillas de mala calidad y altos precios” y totalmente de acuerdo. Esta silla cumple la función de comodidad y práctica y a un muy buen precio. Yo también les digo no pierdan tiempo buscando esta es muy buena opción, muy fácil de armar, no ocupa espacio, el respaldo es ergonómico para la espalda, super padre!!
