I bought ‘Study Strategies for Teens’ for my nephew, but I ended up learning so much myself! What I loved about this book was how it encourages and teaches teens so many skills that will encourage them to really develop and start thinking for themselves as unique individuals. For example, how to find out what you may be good at – referred to as ‘superpower’ in the book. How to set goals, your WHY or motivations which can be different for everyone. Then another important topic – how to plan….how to create effective notes….optimising your time for all activities.Simply excellent book, the table of contents is very useful in showing all topics covered, with each topic then broken down into relevant and useful sub-topics.Would make an excellent present for teenagers embarking on the journey of education and life. I think I will but the paperback for my niece.

A great introduction to put everything in perspective, calling out that your grades won’t define you and your future. This should be every stressed-out teen’s mantra! I really liked that so many of the tools can be taken into everyday life and adulthood, such as ‘understanding your why’, how to work smarter, not harder and learning to deal with failure. Adults can benefit from reading this as well, particularly the importance of building the right team around you. Lots of inspiring quotes to uplift the reader from people including Misty Copeland and Arianna Huffington.
