BRILLIANT DETAIL – EASY TO UNDERSTAND – WONDERFUL TIPS
I loved this book. The amount of detail they went into with each recipe is incredible and as a complete newbie to Instant Pot cooking I very quickly gained confidence in this type of cooking. Not only were the recipe’s very good but the beginning instructions and explanations in the book helped me to better understand this way of cooking. The additional tips with each recipe are also great. Note: This is not a picture cookbook…. very few of the recipes have accompanying pictures. But what it lacked in pictures it more than made up for in detailed explanations of each recipe. Well worth the price

If you have an Instant Pot, you need this book.
There are many good Instant Pot Recipe books out there, with good recipes. This book is outstanding: lots of “road-map” recipe guides, insights, advice on recipe variations, chef tips, what to expect, how to adapt. There’s lots of great stuff online, but I’m old fashioned: I like a book I can hold in my hands using three fingers as bookmarks while I flip back and forth. Sorry, can’t do that on my phone, tablet, or laptop.Hundreds of wonderful-looking recipes here. I’ve only scratched the surface. It hasn’t let me down yet, don’t regret a penny I paid for this book.

Great book! I’ve got one tip!
Great ideas for basics and modifications to lots of recipes.I only find that a lot of instant pot recipes elsewhere call for meat to be browned prior to cooking whereas this step seems to be missing or omitted from a lot of these recipes. Just be aware! Otherwise….great recipe book for all sizes of instant pots! 😋👍

    This book is amazing!!
The road map recipes are awesome, what a cool format! Like a choose-your-own-adventure for food. I’m a pretty experienced cook and I haven’t heard of some of these recipes, this book is super detailed and I am very impressed. Buy this when you get your instant pot 🙂

    Great Resource with Some Limitations
Recipes overall seem good and I’ve had some success. But the “Silky Vanilla Custard” has the texture of warm buckshot. Including the recipe seems like the kind of mistake made by a blind product evangelist, and erodes confidence. The other concern I have is with the index. The way it’s laid out and typeset make it very difficult to know where you are in the index. For example, flipping through, Perfect Seared Chicken Breasts jumps out at you in bold face (because it’s a “master recipe”), yet it’s in the B’s (for braises; it does appear again under Chicken, too). Confusing. A very odd problem, but it makes the book a bit of a pain to use.

    high brow cooking
I bought the book as a new instant pot user. I wish it had more pictures and was easier to use, like a coiled spine to keep it open. I like the cook times very much as too many of my recipes made their way to the trash as my recipes from Pinterest were inaccurate timing. I also prefer more vegetarian and vegan recipes….but as a friend pointed out – that’s what instant pot does best! I look forward to trying the more high brow and complex recipes and variations it gives on same. My oatmeal so far is a winner winner!!

    Best Instant Pot Cookbook
I’ve tried out most Instant Pot cookbooks through my public library and know from experience that this one is by far the best. Well constructed recipes written and tested by trained chefs who impart their culinary wisdom with their own entertaining lighthearted style. I especially like their road map recipe feature which offers an intelligent template for anyone to mix and match ingredients and customize a recipe with foolproof ease. Not too many photos here to browse, but with something like 350 solid recipes and loads of expert advice, I’m not minding one bit.

Great book but could benefit from some fact-checking
Excellent format and really comprehensive and easy-to-follow. However, some of the facts around actual recipes should have been checked. One example is the ‘Chicken Vindaloo’ recipe. The authors didn’t even get the derivation right: Their opening line is ‘Vindaloo means ‘wine and potatoes’. Not so.A “vindaloo”, a standard element of Goan cuisine derived from the Portuguese carne de vinha d’alhos (literally “meat in garlic wine marinade”), is a dish of meat (usually pork, though chicken, lamb or beef are options) marinated in wine and garlic. This was “Indianized” by the local Goan cooks with the substitution of palm vinegar for the red wine, and the addition of dried red chili peppers with additional spices. It evolved into the localized and easy-to-pronounce dish “vindaloo”. Nowadays, the British Indian version of vindaloo calls for the meat to be marinated in vinegar, sugar, fresh ginger and spices overnight, then cooked with the addition of more spices. The use of potatoes is the other major deviation: ‘Even though the word aloo (आलू) means potato in Hindi, traditional vindaloo does not include potatoes, as the derivation is Portuguese not Hindi.

Good cookbook with fun recipes, well written

Being familiar with the conventional recipes for many of the dishes in this book, I felt like this strayed too far. I suppose the objective was to make the dishes more broadly appealing, but I feel like they lose what makes them special/distinctive. Examples: Butter chicken made with white wine? Chicken paprikash with caraway seeds and nutmeg? Brisket with green olives and prunes? Also, certain recipes, like the chocolate lava cakes, can’t be made in a 3-quart instant pot. This one is a pass for me.

THIS IS THE BEST COOKBOOK I’VE EVER BOUGHT. And I’ve bought hundreds. This makes Instant Pot cooking easy to understand with charts and simple diagrams. Though I consider myself an experienced cook, this can make anyone a good cook with little effort. PLUS, there’s a secret food saving method revealed in the Sous Vide Section (page 257) that simply works like a FOODSAVER device to remove air from the zip lock bags for keeping food longer. The authors call it the water bath method for removing air from the bags: You simply fill an Instant Pot with water and slowly submerge a nearly filled Ziplock bag until the water pressure pushes all air out of the bag, at which point you zip up the the bag. The air will be gone, and it’s more efficient, easier, and CHEAPER than an expensive Foodsaver device would be. The recipes are outstanding – everything from breakfast oatmeal to fantastic desserts – and they can all be done in the Instant Pot. I’ve tested many. They turn out remarkably well. The recommended cooking times are spot-on perfect. I love this cookbook so much that I’m going to order a Kindle version so that I can refer to my phone for recipes while I’m cooking. The best, best, best of cookbooks. It’s changed my entire approach to cooking forever.

I use a lot this book! Wonderful idea the roadmap recipes: you have a lot of options to change the recipe with the ingredients that you have already at home.

Take it from a simple guy who only recently got introduced to the Instant Pot pressure cooker…and I can hardly say this strongly enough, this is THE only book you will ever need. Great for novice and experienced cooks alike. Before I bought my first ever instant pot, I had never used a pressure cooker or much less made half a decent meal in my kitchen. Today, I have made chocolate lava cakes, banana bread, casseroles, delicious steamed veggies and so much more by following the easy to follow recipes in this cook-book. I honestly cannot stress enough how simple and easy the recipes are. I have all my workmates confused now that I’ve been sharing some of my kitchen exploits with them. This book not only made me fully utilize my Instant Pot, it has seriously upped my cooking skills and some… I cannot recommend it enough. It is a must have for all Instant Pot owners.
