    Perfect for my sourdough bread
Exactly what I needed for baking bread. I wanted one without a handle on the top lid so I could use the lid as a cast iron skillet as well. Removing the lid with oven mitts is easy when you rotate it 90 degrees from the bottom handles. Very happy with the size and quality of this purchase and it is used a lot!

    Excellent Quality! Very satisfied.
Heavy metal!! High-quality castings. Both the Dutch oven and the lid have virtually flat bottoms which provide perfect heat distribution and stability. (I have a ceramic-stove top). The Dutch oven and the lid are slightly textured and are pre-seasoned. (I additionally season every couple of weeks with flax seed oil). Great for both stove top and oven use. The lid fits well on the Dutch oven but also works great as a frying pan/baked quiche pan. No burning or scorching. Very easy to clean. I have several cast iron cookware items but this product is the most versatile with the best surface(s). I use it almost every day. Pot holders are a must!

    Good for sourdough baking
I didn’t like the long handle version of this because that interfered with the other (larger) Dutch oven in my actual oven. This model has the small side handles so you can actually fit two pans to bake two loaves at the same time. The only disadvantage I suppose is that you can’t hold it with one hand, but I prefer not having the interference of a long handle in the oven. I haven’t used this for any other cooking so far, since we use our larger fancy French enameled Dutch oven for that. This works great for bread baking because it seals the steam in well (I drop in 4 fridge ice-maker cubes into the hot pan along the outer edges of my loaf. Getting great oven spring. By the way, I have found no difference between the browning/overall results between using a shallow lower pan like this compared to a standard Dutch oven with a lid. Maybe it is a little easier to see what’s going on with the bake with a shallow lower pan though compared to a deep one, but there isn’t any difference in the overall results as long as you can seal in the steam for the first part of the bake.

Great 2 in 1 Dutch oven
Work horse of the kitchen. This pot is great for everything and makes great bread too. The fact that the lid doubles as a pan is amazing.

    Great product and great company
Had some mild manufacturing defects and the customer service people were really friendly and efficient and my replacement came quickly. I’m thrilled to have their quality made in USA cookware in my kitchen.

    Nice cast iron combo
I bought this mainly because I needed the biggest item I could fit in my toaster oven. So the double handles took up less room than the single handle of a normal pan.Mainly bought it for the skillet part since it wasn’t that much more expensive than just the pan, and having a dutch oven is nice.Fairly flat and smooth texture. It isn’t mirror smooth, but a lot smoother than some other cast iron I’ve bought.I think most of the complaints are from people who really don’t know how to work with cast iron. Although one weird thing happened to me. After seasoning it five times at over 500 degrees I put it on my induction cooktop. When it started cooking all this water appeared under the pan. So not sure if that is something in the seasoning they use that comes out with induction. Heated it up on the regular burner and haven’t had the issue since.Working really well, and basically you have some nice multi-purpose cast iron that is handy.

    Solid purchase
What can you say, it’s a cast iron Dutch oven. It’s not ground down to a smooth finish but it doesn’t have to be. Food does not stick. The pre-seasoned is nice but I always re-season anyways with quick wipe of grapeseed oil in a 375 ovenThere are cheaper and lighter built ones out there and of course much more expensive ones but this one fits the bill for me and my family. With proper care it will outlast me. Wash in hot water and dry immediately (I hand dry then place in warm oven)When storing, put a piece of paper towel between the lid and the pot to stop any moisture caused rust

Coating layer was exfoliating and I didn’t cook anything acidic also seasoned after using it. I used a few times. always the same. After a few day at shelf, it totally rusted. also every time you get rusty taste from meals. Horrible product. I have other cast iron cookware and never had such issues. I’m returning it now.
