This review is based on extensive ownership of all genbolts cameras and a direct comparison to its rival sibling’s below.GB213K….5 unit’s over the last 4 years multiple residencesGB201H dual cameraGB216H-4GB101GB102The mounting bracket is very feeble, older models had better mounting brackets that were simple twist on like a fire extinguisher…why change to this?The movement seems very abrupt and large unlike the 213 but much better than the 201 and 216 which have the same abrupt large area movement.This movement prevents smooth tracking of subjects, while in auto tracking and manual tracking mode.This can be resolved with future updates like the 213K received.

Regrettably, I had to return the 2nd camera. After repeated attempts and with good support from Genbolt staff, the camera was unable to be factory reset or connected to internet. In the end, too much spent was spent.I am pleased to update this review with a report that Genbolt has offered to replace my original purchase. Once again, customer support from Genbolt is superb!Camera only recently arrived. Need to purchase micro sd card in order to operate. Connection of camera to internet straightforward. Looking forward to getting camera fully set up. Customer support has been quick and responsive.Regrettably after several emails and attempts, I have been unable to insert micro sd card into the camera. Genbolt staff kindly sent brief video demonstrating how to insert the card. For some reason the Genbolt sd card does not lock into position.Hoping to hear back from customer support; which in spite of the problem and delays has been very responsive to my many emails.

Works well and sets up easy
This camera does as advertised, it allows the user to control it and to develop alarm settings. An issue I have is the Genbolt cam software is very limited in it’s bit rates for 1st and 2nd stream options and will not let you access the SD card through the app to copy/delete files.

Genbolt GB103K – Purchase Price €49.99 September 2022I purchased this camera to upgrade my set of 6 cameras purchased a few years ago.I was looking for a 4 Mp camera at a competitive price. Other requirements for my needs were Pan/Tilt, automatic tracking, compatibility with IOS/Android/Windows, Ethernet and WiFi connection and USB power so I could power it with a power bank in case of power failure.UNPACKINGThe package includes the camera, Ethernet cable, USB-A to Micro USB cable, 1600mA USB-A charger and user manual.CAMERA CONFIGURATIONThe first step is to insert a MicroSD card (NOT INCLUDED) into the slot under the camera itself. This is explained in the user manual.The second step is the network connection, which can be done by connecting the camera to the router via the Ethernet cable and using a mobile phone with a WIFi connection to the router. All steps are explained in the user manual.The third step is the installation of the Genbolt application on the mobile phone. All camera settings are available via the application.E-mail alerts are well explained, particularly with popular e-mail providers that have recently adopted new authentication methods for e-mailing devices.The fourth, optional step is the installation of the Windows software. The application is sufficient when only e-mail alerts and local registration on a MicroSD card are required.The Windows software is very well done, here there are camera setting parameters that are not available in the app, such as setting the IP of the camera. It can be used to control the camera and to record from the camera to a local hard drive. The software support multiple camerasAnother feature is the camera’s WEB application, where all camera settings are available. Compared to Windows software, the WEB application can be used to set up the camera and also to monitor it.The WEB application is integrated into the camera and does not require a computer to operate. There are additional settings not available in the mobile app nor in the Windows software, namely: Dynamic DNS to allow external connection to the camera from the Internet, ONVIF control, P2P platform control, and reboot timer. The WEB app is for a single camera because it’s embedded in the camera itself.Finally, the camera can be configured as an AP. The configuration is described in the user manual and on the Genbolt support website.TESTINGImage quality: JPG 2560×1440 96 dpi bit depth 24Video: H.265 HEVC 2560x1440Video and image quality are exceptional. The last picture of a street is taken trough the glass windows.At first, when I used the mobile app to monitor I didn’t like the quality, but I soon discovered in the bottom right-hand corner the button to select the high-definition HD resolution. Obviously, this setting affects the online streaming, not the quality of the recording.SUPPORTI always check the online support of the devices I purchase. In this case, I am happy to have found additional documentation online, especially the configuration for iSpy, the software I already use.CONCLUSIONIn conclusion, I can say that I am very satisfied with this camera. Excellent quality, documentation, functions and support at a very competitive price.

I must say this camera is perfect for the house, the quality of the video was so much better than I expected. It was easy to setup, plug it in and all worked perfectly. For the price , it’s definitely worth it. This is the perfect camera for home to watch your pets or get alerts if anyone enters your home via the GENBOLT Cam app. I’ve just purchased another one for my garage , highly recommended.

I’ve bought several Genbolt cameras, both internal and external, and have generally been impressed with them. This is no different.The first thing I noticed was how well packaged it was with everything needed to get up and running. It even had a manual which was easy to understand, something of a rarity these days. Setting up was simple and consisted of plugging in the supplied power supply and amply long power lead. The ethernet cable was attached to a router (actually a conveniently located mesh unit) and I fired up the Genbolt App which I’d used before. In the list of cameras select “Add” and scan the QR code on the side of the camera. Within seconds it was up and running. Once I’d added my wifi network (simply a case of selecting it in the app and entering my password) I was able to discard the ethernet cable.Camera operation is smooth and to pan and tilt just swipe on the phone/tablet screen (you can also use a web interface on a computer but the app is excellent).I tried it looking through a window into the garden and as you can see the 3MP camera really shows its class with excellent clarity. When used indoors it’s nice and sensitive and switches between visible and IR as the light level falls. The attached photos show the same room in subdued daylight and nighttime. Both situations give really impressive results.If I had one criticism it would be that putting in a micro SD card (not supplied) is a little fiddly but once it’s in you don’t need to touch it. This is a very minor point though.Given how cheap the camera is and how well it performs I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
