Erudite Peek at the Source of Jewish Financial Success from a Religious Viewpoint
This book is a very erudite scholarly look at the background of Jewish disproportionately high prosperity. You will gain a lot of understanding about underlying principles that Jews used which were based on the Jewish biblical writings and religion. However, the author, who is apparently a religious if not evangelical Christian, makes an erroneous assumption. He limits his view of the reasons for Jewish success on their inspiration and drawing of insight from their religious books. That is true only to a certain extent. He therefore leaves out analyzing the source of the incredible financial success as well as academic success of Jews, that is applicable to Jews who are not religious. There are many Jews who are rich, who are not religious and may even be very unschooled in the bible. Sure, they may unwittingly, because of Jewish cultural background they may have been imbued with, practice some or many of the tenets set out in this book. Charity is an example. Jews are disproportionately high in charitable works and donations. The author ignores the obvious fact that the Jewish bible, the Tenach, and the Talmud, do not play a significant part in the success stories of many Jews.Again, I think the book is excellent for as far as it goes. It will enlighten you about Jews. It will deliver what it promises—information about the Ancient Jewish Code. But that won’t necessarily make you a millionaire. What is lacking, is information on the total picture–not just the biblical element in the makeup of the Jewish character that has created so much success.Furthermore, the book does not complete the story, which involves many factors beyond the Ancient Code, leading up to the present day. Antisemitism itself has honed Jewish survival skills. You had to have your wits about you when there were a lot of pogroms going on. You had to learn how to be adaptible when you couldn’t enter professions or trade guilds, or own land. So you bought and sold things, and lent money. You learned how to be a wheeler and dealer, and you learned the nuances of finance, or else your family would go hungry in the squalid shtetl Jewish ghetto. Also, the book does not talk about specifics such as business niches to which Jews tend to gravitate. Ones with cutting edge new development, and its concomitant high risk. Like high tech. Israel is a world leader in biotech, for example.Leverage is an important element for Jews. Why? Because they weren’t part of the WASP establishment. So they needed to make the most of what little they had. Leverage was available in real estate development, in the form of mortgages, with the equity being created by entrepreneurial developer activity. Jews are disporportionately represented in real estate development. Hedge funds use leverage: you make money using your clients’ money. If you’re smart and generate a lot of profit, your remuneration can be astronomical, like hundreds of millions per annum. But it’s a risky endeavour–your neck is on the block. Produce profits, or you’re out. Jews have been fashioned by history to not only survive such challenges, but to thrive on them.As far as genetics goes, the author does show that Jews, especially Ashkenazi Jews, originating in Easter Europe, have the highest IQ’s on the planet. But that fact doesn’t help a gentile to become a millionaire. However, emulating or “modeling” mindset and activities of successful people can and will lead to success. So the title should really be: Ancient Success Code of the Jews–how they became millionaires. By the way, there are lots of Jews who are not rich, and who are not successful. One must look at averages. The author mentions that Jews are presently about 2% of Americans, yet Jews comprise about 25% of the Forbes list of richest American. But I say, okay, show me, the reader, how I can emulate and model their activities, so I can become a millionaire like your book title says. For that, you’ll have to go elsewhere. An author named Arnold Solomon is providing those very answers. His book will be out this year. I think that in all likelihood, the ideal approach would be for you to read both books. This one for the Ancient Jewish Code, combined with the modern specific money secrets that Jews use in today’s world that will be explained in Solomon’s book.On a non-monetary basis, I found this book very enjoyable and entertaining as well as informative. It’s definitely a must read if you’re interested in the Jewish phenomenon.

    Did Not Hold My Interest
I thought the title of this book sounded intriguing. Unfortunately, the actual content did not hold my attention or IMO deliver on the subtitle’s promise/claim.May be an alright book for someone who is Jewish and appreciates the historical references in this book to Jewish people and wealth. But I am not Jewish and it wasn’t my kind of book.

As a biz guy who has an extensive library, was surprised that I had not hear or read this book. its a life changer. It really helps you understand “the money code” as the Jewish people look at money and wealth.
