    Love My Instant Dutch Oven
Absolutely love this appliance! Made a pork roast and can honestly say it was the best I ever had! Not even remotely dry and tons of flavour. I have found today’s crockpots run extremely hot even on low setting and have never been able to produce a roast of this quality. Also made a delicious chilli – great to be able to brown and cook in one pot! Highly recommend!

    Beautiful but Rusty Dutch Oven
Well… I was very excited to receive this as a replacement to my 25 year old standard crock pot which I loved and used constantly. The cobalt blue is stunning and I loved having it on my counter. My rating is about 2.5 stars but you can only select 2 or 3. Since to me this negates the quality, I’m going with 2. I will agree with other reviews that the ‘slow cook’ function temperature is on the lower side however my meals have always been cooked and I really enjoy the sear/braise functions. You can truly do everything in ONE pot. My biggest complaint is that the rim of both the pot and lid are rusting terribly since first use. It is now getting worse and can be seen dripping into the food being cooked. This is NOT ok. I am rethinking my purchase. Very disappointing for a pricey and supposed high quality item. It is past the return window for Amazon, but I will be reaching out to InstantPot.

My mom loved the box more then the gift but she definitely is planning to cook a lot with it.

This small appliance has a bit of a learning curve and I had to go to the internet because the user manual is lacking. But there are many things I like about this kitchen tool:1. The saute/sear function. I made a pot roast and it was so nice to sear the meat first and then just throw in the juices and veggies. Turned out perfect. (Sear heats to 400°, so don’t throw in your meat and walk away.)2. The slow cooker function heats to 203°. This is just slightly above a normal slow cooker low of ~190°, which is what I like to use.*3. But if you’re in a hurry or short of time, there is a Manual Mode where you can adjust the temperature higher. Just be careful: Manual Mode 2 reaches 400°.**4. Cooking time and temps can be adjusted.5. This comes with very clever silicone handle holders which you just slip on the hot handles if you need to lift the pot out–and a round silicone pad to set the hot pot upon. From kitchen to table.*Although the function says “slow cooker”, like the Instant Pot, this only heats from the bottom. Put thicker, denser items on bottom and I wouldn’t advise cooking without liquids included. I also stir periodically. Also, as said, if you need a higher heat, use Manual Mode.**I advise “playing around” with the different modes before adding ingredients. Adjusting times/temps took some practice and although I read there is a Manual Mode 1 & 2, I haven’t found 2 yet. And don’t expect the timer sound to be very audible. Typical IP volume. This all being said, the more I use it, the more I appreciate what it can do. But I still have my Slow Cooker because sometimes I want that all-around heat.

I bought this because I wanted to do low temperature long duration cooking style similar to Sous Vide but without the bag swimming in the water.Main features of this device that attracted me are the temperature and duration controls.I did a 5.5 lb Chuck Roast with celeries, carrots and potatoes and seasoning herbs and spices. I cooked it at 170 deg F for 18 hours. The max duration allowed in the oven was 12 hours so I had to re-start after 12 hours.Meat came out tender but retained its textures. Same thing with vegetables.I wished that the oven allowed me to set it up to 24 hours. Something they can improve on.Excellent machine and good call for filling the niche gap in the market. Well executed!

This is a a very nice Dutch oven. Pot is pretty heavy. Cooks great. Many useful settings. Temperature is great. Meals cook great in this. Hard to clean because of the weight of the pot.

This is a nice pot, seems well made, and I want to like it. It’s very attractive (blue) and also very heavy (cast iron pot)! It heats up well and the, very brief, guide to the controls makes sense. The only thing missing in my opinion is a good set of instructions on how to convert dutch oven recipes to use with it. If you set the temperature to what you would set the oven for using a traditional dutch oven, the interior will get far hotter than a traditional dutch oven. I knew something was wrong its first outing when it was building up enough steam pressure to lift the heavy cast iron lid! I very nearly dried out my dinner that time, though it was still quite tasty. Some guidance on how to convert the many recipes out there for dutch ovens would be a major help. If that ever becomes available, or I have more time to experiment I can see using this a lot. Definitely more useful than my Instant Pot that has sat in the cabinet untouched for the past couple of years.
