I purchased this and it is excellent for making individual meals or meals for two. The steamer basket does not have a handle but I use my silicone mitts to remove it or my Motase Removable handle which locks onto the steamer basket.I have not noticed any white spots that other customers have had. I read an article that says the white spots are from mineral deposits (calcium) in the water which can be easily removed by boiling 1 part white vinegar and three parts water in the pot. “Remove pot from heat, let it stand until the water cools” poor water out and clean pot All in all I like my new pot and find it very useful.
