I’ve been extremely happy with the purchase of the 3 different sizes of these skillets. I was looking for a cast iron pan that I could use at home but also throw in my pack and take camping that didn’t have the weight of a full size Lodge cast iron pan. The nitrile finish on them is a huge plus and so far they have been holding seasoning extremely well! These have replaced all non stick pans in my home.

I thought I was going to love this item but the quality is poor. I put it on the stove the day I received and this happened !? I excepted better from GSI

It’s solid, in all the ways you’d expect: can’t hurt it, works well. It’s not as heavy as a regular cast iron skillet this size would be; if you’re brutal or goofy it really is backpacking-worthy. My scouts have envied my fried eggs as they struggled with their lightweight titanium/aluminum rigs. Worth the weight? I think so.

This thing is robust! Lighter than a standard cast iron pan, it feels really well made. I bought this for shorter backpacking trips so I can use it over the fire without carrying a heavy pan
