Having had a number of different stainless steel cookwares in my collection, it was interesting to see what Zepter brings to the literal and figural table. The pan itself came well packaged, with a polished exterior and an interior vaguely resembling something that was sandblasted, in that it was a bit coarser than typical stainless steel surfaces that I’m used to. The lid has a rather unique temperature indicator.General construction-wise, it has a somewhat typical for European cookware format, where the bottom is a sandwich layer of multiple materials to ensure compatibility with induction cooking, while the sides are apparently single layer stainless. There’s indications that the stainless steel used is 316, which is higher quality and more premium than the typical 304. The handles don’t use rivets, which I like, for a smooth interior with no bumps for the handles. The handles themselves stay cool, and have an interesting polished brass accent on them that can apparently be swapped out for a different one. The lid can be placed inside the handle almost vertically yet nicely and securely.Performance-wise, the nonstick generally behaves like a typical stainless steel surface in that it’s only “nonstick” if you’re familiar with how to try and keep things from sticking to stainless steel. The manual does try and help with that, mentioning having the dial on the lid in the green range, and using the water splash test. But realistically, it’s not PTFE level of nonstick, and you need to be careful with it like with any other stainless steel pan surface. I used too much liquid and had burned a batch of food, but using less liquid and keeping a closer eye on it worked better. The manual is quite confusing in some places. For example it recommends using a very specific (brand name) cleaning detergent, yet also says it’s dishwasher safe where dishwashes detergents will be different. I just washed it in the dishwasher using a regular dishwashing detergent like I do for my other stainless steel cookware with no problems. In another place it suggests leaving the cookware on low heat (how low?) or removing it entirely from the heat, without taking into consideration the amount or thickness of the food being fried. Is it worth the value? Well, that’s up to the individual. For me, just in terms of performance, it doesn’t quite seem to bring anything notable or new for the cook. More so, I find the usage of plastic in the handle at such a price point quite questionable, and it does get inconvenient to have to unscrew and rescrew the knob every time when using this cookware in the dishwasher or oven. But for those that are aiming for a very particular look and style that this cookware offers, while still having the performance of good quality stainless steel, and can afford the premium, this might be on your short list.

I know these have been around for a while, but this is my first opportunity to try out a Zepter pan. Yes, they are expensive. They do come with a lifetime guarantee, and they are also absolutely gorgeous and it is the most classy looking piece of cooking equipment I’ve ever owned. The pot holds heat very well and saves you a bit of heating costs as you don’t have to heat things as high. The approach is to cook your food on a pan that requires no oil or water, and I am absolutely pleased at the results. Basically, the pan has a perfect seal that locks in all moisture so you are basically recirculating the moisture directly from your food in the cooking process. The pan arrived close to when I am traveling, so I have only used it a couple of times and wanted to submit this before I leave. In the photos, you can see a simple mushroom and butternut squash dish. I put the lightly washed vegetables in the pan – both pan & veggies went on the stove “cold”, or at room temperature so they heated up together. As soon as the indicator on top hit a certain point, I reduced the heat to a low simmer. I opened the pan for the photo and it was cooking merrily inside. The taste was fantastic, and you can tell there’s nothing lost or diluted – in fact, when I use this again I want to try it out with vegetables that don’t have quite as much water on them from rinsing as I think the squash holds a lot of moisture. I can picture adding some green beans or zucchini as well and it will all taste delightful. This has me excited about cooking in a new way, and while I’ve used a dutch oven often in the past, this is a bit more versatile as it can also be used to fry meat without oil. I found the Zepter cook art videos (called exactly that) to be very informative, and helped me wrap my head around the concept. I wish they also put out a cookbook, and I’m going to search around to try to find one. It’s really a fun approach to healthy cooking!

This pan is pretty. This pan works well. Works as described where no additional oil/water is needed to cook your food. Non-stick quality is excellent and this pan does indeed help in keeping your food at a healthy level. Not sure it’s worth the price tag on this piece…but it is imported, so maybe that is playing a part. Definitely high-quality materials and craftsmanship have gone into creating this piece. Quick shipping and delivery. Would make a lovely gift to someone trying to do more cooking at home and keeping it healthy. I recommend.

Easy to clean and amazing to cook with. High quality with nice weight. The handles don’t get hot. The temperature gauge on the top works appropriately to assure proper cooking. Highly recommend.

Man do I hate how much I love this dutch oven.I don’t want to love it. Have you seen the price-tag? I always want to believe that there comes a point where you’re paying for a brand and name over true quality and that there can always be an equivalent option for a cheaper cost but man…when it comes to this baby I just don’t think so.Everything you want in a dutch oven is in this product. On top of that it has a truly immaculate beautiful appearance that takes the cake in such a way that it makes me feel like a wealthy Italian woman cooking in her gigantic kitchen overlooking the sea. Significant weight so you know you’re working with a heavy duty piece of cookware.Works with multiple forms of cooking source such as gas, induction, and its even oven safe. Is able to transfer between stove to oven and has an intelligent temperature design sensor that’s able to accurately reflect how well cooked your food is. You can cook in this pan without using any kind of butter or lubricant which means that your’e able to achieve well cooked delicious meals. So far everything I’ve made in this dutch oven has been cooked perfectly and come out delicious. I’m truly amazed by what kind of results I was able to achieve with such minimal effort. Like I said, I hate how good this turned out for the cost but if you’ve made peace with the second mortgage on your house you’re going to be so happy.
