    Seasoning layer breaks down after first use
    I don’t believe this is a high quality product as they state in the listing. The seasoning layer breaks down first time use and I tried to re-season it multiple times, the breaks grow larger and larger. I thought this should be like a cast iron which has no layering but apparently it does have the surface coating and it doesn’t look good when it breaks. Don’t waste your time when you can get a cast iron below $50. Yes it is lighter but the quality is just not there

    Any home chef (or even professionals for that matter) should be pleased and proud to own this pan. It is definitely heavy-duty, but not too heavy. I would definitely recommend spending the few extra bucks and buy the pre-seasoned model. This is a great overall chefs quality pan. I use it for pretty much everything, including searing and cooking steaks to stir-fry. In fact, I liked it so much that we bought three more for our sons (two of whom are chefs) and they love them as well. One of our boys had a similar but lesser quality pan that wound up warping from the high heat. I don’t see that happening with this high-quality carbon steel pan. I hope you love it as much as I do.     Great size, shape and weight. I like that it’s made in Sweden and it should perform well for a long long time. It comes seasoned but benefits from an additional coat or two. Only knock is how rough the texture is. It’s perfectly non stick, however it’s rough enough that it picks up a lot of lint when trying to wipe it down with a paper towel or cotton kitchen towel. Texture is almost like sand paper.

    While I’ve used cast iron pans for years, the very large ones 16″ or our wok were always hard to clean given the weight. These cook just like the cast iron pans, but so much easier to cook on and clean…

    This is a sturdy quality made pan that isn’t made in China. It’s my first Carbon Steel pan (other than a nice collection of cast iron we have). I bought it as an alternative to a “non-stick” pan to avoid the PFA’s (or any of the other chemicals used in non stick cookware). We had a great non stick Calphalon pan, but it warped after 15 years, so we replaced it with this.We’re not disappointed, this is a great non stick alternative. If you’re not used to cooking with cast iron or stainless steel, you’ll have a learning curve, but as long as you season this properly and take care of it, it will serve you well. I was cooking eggs over easy after a few uses and nothing is sticking. We seasoned with bacon twice and a few other fatty items, after 4/5 good fatty meals in it, it’s smooth and working great.It’s been a month. The pan seems to be very well constructed, it functions perfectly, I hope this will be an “heirloom” style pan that will last forever, we really really like it.
