ACCURATE DATA GALORE! And a GREAT looking watch. Kicks the crap out of my old Fitbit.
GREAT smartwatch/fitness watch. Any issues reported about this watch from reviews on the internet/youtube videos do not exist for me. It’s probable that these were resolved via Garmin’s software updates. Superb durability and construction. I was skeptical on the MIPS transreflective screen vs a regular OLED screen (as on my old Fitbit Versa), but damn i’ve fallen in love with the screen and how visible it is in bright light/sunlight. Not as pretty and vibrant, but meh, the tradeoff is worth it as the battery life is AMAZING! To summarize:-GREAT battery; on my old Fitbit Versa, i was charging every other day. Every 2 days if i disabled notifications. My Vivoactive 4s lasts 7/8 days with notifications off.-Amazing screen (MIPS transreflective) and looks GREAT in sunlight. Not as pretty as an OLED but worth it.-Built in watch faces are really nice and best of all, SO CUSTOMIZABLE! I love that you can customize all the data screens on every stock Garmin watchface. And if you dont like the stock watch faces, get one from the Garmin Connect IQ store.-Band is a nice soft silicone/foam mix, like what gym trainer shoes are often made of. Very different than the silicone used on Fitbit watches, which are more “rubbery” if you know what i mean. Garmin’s band feels nicer on my skin.-The band’s quick release pins are harder to release than Fitbit’s, though, which is lame, and is on the opposite side than what i’m used to, but it’s a small annoyance.-Screen is RESPONSIVE! Way more responsive than my old Fitbit Versa. I’m actually surprised how responsive it is.-The proprietary charging is awkward and a bit annoying but meh, not a huge deal. Especially when I charge it only once or twice a week.-Activity tracking is INSANE! SO detailed! Data recording is on another level. Here’s the biggest thing… a lot of these metrics are available on Fitbit watches, but you need to pay for their Fitbit Premium to see it… not for my new Vivoactive 4s! Thank you Garmin for not making a bs subscription service that locks half of the watch’s data metrics.-Great design that is CIRCULAR not square (I dislike square watches) and looks more like a classic watch than a piece of electronic strapped to your wrist.-Sleep tracking is GREAT for me. I dont know where all the complaints come from, but it’s been more than accurate and fine for me.-GPS is accurate as heck! I’d say 95% perfect when my run/walk/hiking routes are overlaid on a satellite image underlay.-Vibrator motor is STRONG! Way stronger than my old Fitbit Versa. This watch hits every checkbox that I wanted in a smartwatch/fitness watch. I dont need the bells and whistles on newer watches (OLED screen, built in speaker, built in mic, etc.) so this is perfect for me… this just means a longer lasting battery! This thing kicks the crap out of my old Fitbit Versa in every aspect. I love it. Highly recommended. I’ve been converted!

A Perfectly Packaged Fitness Companion
Garmin’s Vivoactive 4S delivers an impressive array of features in one sleek, wearable package. It excels as a fitness and wellness monitor with its music capability, body energy metrics, animated workouts, pulse ox sensors, and more. This compact smartwatch keeps me engaged with my health goals while offering convenience for daily tasks on the go. The only minor downside is the wristband length; it would benefit from being a touch longer to accommodate a broader range of users comfortably. However, this does not detract significantly from its otherwise stellar performance as an essential gadget that blends technology and lifestyle seamlessly, offering reliability and versatility without compromise—an ideal fitness companion for active individuals who appreciate detailed health insights combined with the simplicity of a wrist-worn device.

Device works well, app could use some love
Battery life is fantastic. I get about a week out of the battery before I have to charge it (please note that if you use sleep tracking, this number drops to about 3 days). However, plugging it in for just over an hour will have you back to full battery. The screen resolution is not quite like other competitors in this field, but this is easy to look over. The way the screen is designed, the watch is amazingly legible with direct sunlight on it. No issues with glare like other devices in this field have.Connectivity to the app would be my main complaint about this device, and the reason I can’t give it 5 stars. Although the app is functional, I find that the watch has a hard time connecting to the app for certain extensions like weather. I wish there was either a better connection, or a better option for some of the apps on the device.Overall, I am very happy with this device. It functions perfectly in the areas that matter to me most, and the only downsides to the watch can be easily overlooked. If you are looking for a watch with fantastic tracking features, great sensors, and a phenomenal batter life, this is an easy recommendation.

Garmin rarely disappoints. Love it so much its always on me other than to shower and charge. Im quite paranoid with my battery life since I’m pretty active with my various workouts and steps, so i do give it a short quick charge when i shower in the morning. So far, battery drop by 30-40% for a 24-hour cycle. But i do use it for a lot of activity tracking.

Muy buen diseño, tamaño, correo evita que se caiga, buena duración de batería pero el GPS la consume muy rapido como ellos mismos advierten así que todo bien, en segunda mano como nuevo es muy muy buena opcion.

Firstly DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS EVEN FOR DEFECTIVE ITEMS OR REPLACEMENTS….Watch arrived charged as required turned on got the watch faces as above. Couldn’t reset or force shut down, so couldn’t set up watch with smart phone as just wouldn’t do anything. Touchscreen didn’t work either. Watch felt and looked cheap also compared to my two other garmins. Requesting refund as watch doesn’t work! Only had it 6 hours photos taken in dark room tonight but crazy screens no way to set it up?! Disappointed and waste of money.Want to give no stars but had to give 1 to submit review. So tried to get either refund or replacement item as watch wouldn’t work company refused both options so had to get Amazon involved who refunded straight away abs on were great but this company please DO NOT BUY HERE.

Those of you more interested in fitness first, smartwatch features second, will really enjoy this watch. My Vivoactive HR just died after having it for over 3 years, so I upgraded to the Vivoactive 4. This is a major upgrade in terms of looks and features. Here are all the things I love:1) Two buttons – I originally bought the Vivoactive 3 Music because it was on sale for $200, but I quickly realized that missing the second button was a major pain point for me. Having the two buttons is so much more convenient for overall navigation. Also when you’re in a workout, the second button can be used for setting a lap (instead of the vivoactive 3 where you have to double tap the screen). The second button alone was worth the extra spend. The vivo3 had a 20mm band, where the vivo4 is 22mm. The bigger band makes it look a lot better. The extra 0.1in screen space is well utilized also. It does make a difference.2) Touch screen – I also tested out the Fenix 5 Plus for a while; now that is a great watch. The only issue I had with the Fenix was that you had to navigate all with buttons. The buttons are great for fitness and water sports, but when you’re in the office, it’s a little awkward when you’re sitting in a meeting pressing buttons to navigate through texts or emails. Fenix was an amazing fitness watch, don’t get me wrong, but it didn’t work for my professional life expectations. Because it felt weird to have to press 5 buttons on the Fenix at the office, I wanted to go back to the touchscreen. Touchscreen is so much quicker and easier than the buttoned Garmins. It also looks cooler, and makes it truly feel more like a smartwatch.3) Fitness features – If you’re never had a Garmin before, they are amazing tools to help your fitness. The data it collects is leaps and bounds better and more accurate than any other smart watch. This watch has way more than the average athlete would ever need as it pertains to fitness features. There are tons of apps available, and its so easy to navigate and customize to your need. I use it mainly for running, golf and open ocean canoe paddling, using the SUP app. Though it’s a touch screen, it still responds decently well when you’re using it on the water soaking wet. You just have to kinda dry it off before you try to navigate while on the water. But here’s the deal, if you’re truly serious about your training, you’re probably working too hard to even mess with your watch during the workout anyway, so focus on your training, not tapping away at your watch. I set it to buzz after every mile so I can see each mile pace. It works well for the 5-10+ mile sessions when I’m trying to beat my time. I listen to music when I’m out paddling, and it’s a really nice feature. Haven’t had any issues connecting to my waterproof earphones, even with all the movement during a workout. I use the Mpow Flame waterproof earphones. Golf app is awesome: front, middle and back of the green yardage.4) Battery life – this is the biggest reason for me to get a Garmin instead of an Apple, Fossil or Samsung. I didn’t want to be glued to my charger every night so instead I got this and get a full week’s worth of battery. The always-on display is bright enough to see in daylight and at nighttime, but technology is what helps it save energy instead of the higher end amoled screens. It charges really quickly too so if I forget to charge it, I can just juice it up really quickly. A 10 minute charge gets me about 30% of battery.5) Smart features – The fact that Garmin has begun to integrate smart features to their watches is amazing. Yes, you can’t do everything one would like to do on a watch like talk to siri, look at pictures, or make phone calls. But why are you looking on your watch for all that stuff anyway? Is it really necessary when our phones are so advanced now? I get all my selected phone notifications, I can read texts and preview emails, and that’s really all i need. Remember, fitness first, smartwatch second. All in all, this is an amazing fitness watch, and I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the market for a new watch. Totally worth the spend, and for my needs I’d say it is a major upgrade from the apple/samsungs.
